Summer Solstice is a high energy time of the year
 Spring has sprung and summer is coming yet my days start feeling more intense. My husband reminds me this is the way it is every year leading up to June 21st, the Summer Solstice.
June 17th I am heading out to New Mexico for the 8 day 3ho Summer Solstice Sadhana.
It is cleansing and revitalizes our 30 trillion cell batteries for the next 6 months. Where else do I get to do morning Sadhana with 1,000 people and sing sing sing from the vast
expanse of unobstructed blue sky, mountainous vista's of land visable for miles and rarified clean air from the 7,000 foot elevation of this campsite. After Solstice I will stay on to teach at Ladies Camp at this same wonderful location. (www.3ho.org)
My son Guru Mustuk Singh has the good fortune to live in New Mexico with his family. He does a very popular blog called www.mrsikhnet.com. Every so often I get to see some great pictures of my grandkids in his blog and find out what they are doing. Last week, he informed us that his youngest, Charanjeet who is almost 2 years old, is now devoting herself to the care and feeding of their wooden Buddha. This is a picture of her singing the Buddha to sleep. It is curious to see how she is caring for the Buddha like it is a baby doll. But who knows. There are some very amazing souls being incarnated these days.
Before I leave you with the June events I have a few words to share with you about the benefits of chanting: from the words of Guru Arjan Dev ji that I read today in my morning meditation.
"The multitudes of maladies vanish by singing Gods glories. Peace reigns within by contemplating over the Lord. Hope is fulfilled by enshrining the Nam within the mind. No obstacles befall a person if they efface their self conceit." (pg. 520 SGGS).
